Collection: The Dorona Grape of Venice

Grappolo di uva Dorona durante vendemmia

The Native Gold of the Lagoon

Dorona di Venezia is an ancient indigenous grape variety from the Venetian Lagoon, recognizable by the distinctive golden color of its bunches and deeply connected to Venice's agricultural heritage.

On the Island of Vignole, Azienda Agricola Biniola cultivates a small 0.7-hectare vineyard, planted in 2019 and managed according to the principles of organic farming and a low-intervention approach.

From this small vineyard come two different expressions of Dorona.

Dorona IGT Veneto

The freshest and most immediate expression.

Spontaneous fermentation and aging in stainless steel on fine lees preserve the wine's freshness, acidity, and drinkability, allowing the character of Dorona to remain clear and direct.

Uà d'Oro

The more evolved expression.

One year of aging in concrete tanks gives the wine greater roundness and more mature aromas, while preserving the distinctive identity of Dorona.

Two wines, one small vineyard, and two different ways of telling the story of one of Venice's rarest indigenous grape varieties.

Curious to discover the history of Dorona, its near disappearance, and the rebirth of viticulture in the Venetian Lagoon?
