Dorona at its most precious
Uà D'Oro Dorona IGT by Azienda Agricola Biniola represents one of the most intense and refined expressions of Dorona di Venezia, an ancient native grape variety that came close to disappearing and is now experiencing an extraordinary revival among the islands of the Venetian Lagoon.
The grapes come from a small vineyard on Isola delle Vignole, a unique place where vines grow just a few steps from the sea, on soils shaped by the saline influence, tides and distinctive microclimate of the lagoon.
Here, a rare wine is born, produced in very limited quantities and deeply rooted in the identity and history of Venice.
Compared with Biniola's classic Dorona, Uà D'Oro undergoes a longer maceration on the skins followed by approximately one year of ageing in unlined concrete tanks. This gives the wine greater structure, aromatic depth and remarkable ageing potential, while preserving the authentic character of the Dorona grape.
The winemaker's notes
"Uà D'Oro shows how Dorona can become a complex wine for the table and for slow enjoyment. The longer skin maceration and ageing in concrete bring depth and character, while preserving the extraordinary saline quality that only the Venetian Lagoon can give."

Why we chose it
We chose Uà D'Oro because it is much more than a rare wine.
It represents the revival of an ancient Venetian winemaking heritage and tells the story of a small winery cultivating Dorona on Isola delle Vignole with deep respect for nature and tradition.
It is a wine for those seeking distinctive and authentic bottles, capable of expressing a sense of place that simply cannot be replicated elsewhere.
The territory
The vineyard is located on Isola delle Vignole, between Venice and the Adriatic Sea.
Here, Dorona grows in soils naturally influenced by the surrounding lagoon. Saline breezes, intense reflected light and the island's distinctive microclimate contribute to the pronounced minerality and saline character of the grapes — unmistakable signatures of this wine.
The vineyard is tended entirely by hand, following sustainable, low-intervention farming practices. The grapes are also harvested manually into crates, with the utmost respect for this fragile and precious ecosystem.
The winery
Azienda Agricola Biniola was founded with the aim of bringing viticulture back to the heart of the Venetian Lagoon, reviving the ancient winemaking tradition of Isola delle Vignole, once known as Biniola or Isola delle Sette Vigne — the Island of the Seven Vineyards.
Production is deliberately limited, and every bottle tells the story of a unique place where viticulture continues to coexist with the sea and with Venice's centuries-old history.
