The Grillo that sings the most authentic Sicily

Paolo Calì's Blues Grillo Terre Siciliane IGT tells the story of Sicily through one of the island's most distinctive native grape varieties. The name “Blues” evokes the sound of crickets singing on warm summer evenings, a tribute to the nature and countryside of Vittoria, where this wine is produced.

Made from 100% Grillo, it combines aromatic intensity with freshness and savory character. Elegant and distinctly Mediterranean, it brings together the warmth of the Sicilian climate with a remarkable sense of balance and drinkability.

Over the years, Blues has become one of the winery's best-known labels, receiving important national awards for its quality and distinctive character.

The winemaker's notes

"Grillo is one of the great grape varieties of the Mediterranean. In Paolo Calì's Blues, I am struck by its aromatic precision and remarkable savoriness: it smells of Sicily, yet always maintains elegance and freshness. A white wine that naturally invites a second sip."

— Yuri Stefani

Why we chose it

We chose Blues Grillo because it represents a contemporary and authentic expression of Sicily.

It gives centre stage to an indigenous grape variety without overcomplicating it, allowing the character of the territory to come through clearly. Fresh, aromatic, and savory, it is a wine that will appeal both to lovers of Mediterranean whites and to those discovering the distinctive personality of Grillo.

The territory

The grapes come from vineyards around Vittoria, in southeastern Sicily.

The Mediterranean climate, tempered by the proximity of the sea, together with sandy soils of marine origin, encourages a gradual ripening of the grapes while preserving their aromatic freshness, acidity, and characteristic savory character.

These conditions allow Grillo to express both the generosity of the Sicilian climate and the freshness and elegance that make the wines of this area so distinctive.

The winery

The Paolo Calì winery was established in Vittoria with the aim of expressing the character of native Sicilian grape varieties through respectful viticulture and artisan winemaking.

Paolo Calì, a pharmacist who became a winemaker, transformed a family passion into a winery whose wines have gained recognition for their quality and strong connection to the territory of Vittoria.

Blues is one of the labels that best reflects this philosophy: an expressive, contemporary interpretation of Grillo rooted firmly in southeastern Sicily.
