The elegance of Verzenay in a Grand Cru Champagne of remarkable character
Champagne Observation Grand Cru Brut by Michel Arnould comes from Verzenay, one of the most prestigious Grand Cru villages in the Montagne de Reims, and represents a beautiful expression of the Maison's philosophy.
The cuvée is made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The predominance of Pinot Noir brings structure, depth and richness, while Chardonnay contributes freshness, elegance and aromatic precision.
Observation combines richness and tension, complexity and immediacy. Notes of ripe fruit and citrus mingle with delicate spicy, mineral and lightly smoky nuances, supported by a precise and persistent structure.
It is a Champagne for those looking for a characterful Grand Cru, capable of expressing the terroir of Verzenay while maintaining elegance and balance.
The winemaker's notes
"Observation beautifully showcases the balance between Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The structure and depth of Pinot Noir meet the freshness and precision of Chardonnay, creating a Champagne that is complex yet always dynamic. It is the kind of Champagne that works beautifully as an aperitif but has enough character to accompany an entire meal."

Why we chose it
We selected Michel Arnould's Champagne Observation Grand Cru because it represents exactly what we look for in a Champagne producer: a strong sense of place, precision and the ability to express the character of the grapes without sacrificing freshness.
The Maison Michel Arnould is based in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay, in the Montagne de Reims, and this cuvée offers a particularly interesting interpretation of the terroir through the combination of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The use of reserve wines aged in oak also adds depth and complexity to the cuvée, while preserving its freshness and distinctive tension.
The terroir
Verzenay is one of Champagne's classified Grand Cru villages and is located in the Montagne de Reims, an area historically associated with Pinot Noir.
The region provides ideal conditions for producing Champagnes with structure and depth while retaining remarkable freshness. The chalk-rich soils contribute to the characteristic mineral tension of the wines, while the cool climate allows the grapes to preserve acidity and aromatic finesse.
It is this balance between structure, freshness and minerality that makes the terroir of Verzenay particularly distinctive.
The winery
The Arnould family has been growing vines in Verzenay for generations and has produced Champagne under its own name since 1961.
Today, the Maison is led by Patrick Arnould and remains deeply focused on the terroir of Verzenay and on expressing the character of Pinot Noir, the signature grape variety of the Montagne de Reims.
The Maison combines a deep knowledge of the terroir with a precise approach to winemaking. Observation is mainly vinified in stainless steel, with a portion of the wines fermented in oak barrels, and is aged on its fine lees.
