The most authentic expression of Calabrian Greco Bianco
Vigneti Vumbaca's Cirò Bianco DOC is made from 100% Greco Bianco, one of Calabria's most representative indigenous grape varieties. Cultivated in the historic Cirò area, just a few kilometres from the Ionian Sea, it expresses the freshness, savouriness, and elegance that define this extraordinary territory.
It is a Mediterranean white in the most authentic sense of the word: fragrant, balanced, and pleasantly mineral, naturally suited to seafood cuisine while retaining remarkable freshness and structure.
The winemaker's notes
"Greco Bianco is a grape variety that speaks of the Mediterranean with great elegance. In this Cirò Bianco, I found what I look for in the best regional wines: freshness, savouriness, and a fine, never excessive aromatic profile. It is a wine that invites a second sip and finds its best expression at the table."

Why we chose it
We chose Vigneti Vumbaca's Cirò Bianco because it interprets Greco Bianco in a clean, essential, and deeply territorial style.
It is a wine that authentically enhances Calabrian winemaking tradition, produced by a small organic winery working exclusively with indigenous grape varieties. Fresh, savory, and versatile, it is equally enjoyable as an aperitif or paired with Mediterranean cuisine.
The territory
The grapes come from the Piana di Franze locality, in the municipality of Cirò Marina, at around 70 metres above sea level. The vineyards are trained using the spurred cordon system on clay-sandy soils and benefit from constant ventilation from the Ionian Sea, together with a warm climate tempered by sea breezes.
These conditions allow Greco Bianco to develop delicate aromas, pleasant natural acidity, and a distinctive savoury character.
The winery
Vigneti Vumbaca is a family-run winery led by Christian Vumbaca, who chose to recover and enhance the winemaking heritage of Cirò through organic farming that respects both the environment and local tradition.
The winery primarily cultivates indigenous varieties such as Gaglioppo, Greco Bianco, and Pecorello, working with minimal intervention in the cellar so that each wine can faithfully express its territory.
