We selected this Cirò Rosso Classico Superiore because it represents an authentic expression of Calabria: a land of small producers, vineyards overlooking the sea, and native grape varieties that preserve an ancient heritage.

The territory

Cirò is produced along the Ionian coast of Calabria, in one of Italy's oldest wine-growing areas, where vine cultivation dates back to the times of Magna Graecia.

The vineyards benefit from a warm, well-ventilated climate tempered by the proximity of the sea. Significant temperature variations between day and night encourage balanced grape ripening, preserving aromatic intensity, freshness, and complexity.

It is precisely this balance between sun, sea, and soil that makes Cirò one of the most representative wines of Calabria.

The winery

Vigneti Vumbaca is a young family-run winery founded with the aim of enhancing the winemaking heritage of the Cirò territory through artisanal production rooted in tradition.

The winery pays particular attention to Gaglioppo, interpreting it in a style that favours authenticity, balance, and a strong sense of place. Each bottle comes from careful work in the vineyard and essential intervention in the cellar, allowing the wine to express its identity naturally.

Intense ruby red with garnet reflections that become more pronounced with age.

Aroma

Broad and refined, with aromas of black cherry, ripe plum, red berries, violet, Mediterranean herbs, sweet spices, and delicate hints of tobacco.

Taste

Full, warm, and elegant on the palate. The tannins are present yet fine and well integrated, supported by pleasant freshness that provides balance and leads to a long finish. The palate recalls ripe red fruit and the characteristic spicy notes of Gaglioppo.
