The Character of Abruzzo in a Great Indigenous White
Faraone Pecorino is a wine that tells the story of the revival of one of Central Italy's most distinctive indigenous grape varieties. Once at risk of disappearing, Pecorino has become one of the most recognizable expressions of modern Abruzzo viticulture, thanks to its ability to combine freshness, structure, aromatic intensity, and a strong sense of place.
Made from 100% Pecorino grapes, this wine stands out for its elegance and balance. It has the vibrant freshness expected from a great Italian white, but also enough structure and depth to make it a genuinely gastronomic wine, capable of accompanying substantial dishes at the table.
The Winemaker's Notes
"Pecorino is one of those grape varieties that reminds us how much of Italy's wine heritage is still waiting to be discovered. I like it because it is not a simple white: it has freshness, but also body and personality. It can accompany an aperitif with ease, yet it also has the structure to pair comfortably with more substantial dishes at the table."

Why We Chose It
We chose this Pecorino because it perfectly represents our idea of wine: an indigenous grape variety, a story worth telling, and a producer deeply connected to its territory.
It is a bottle capable of surprising those looking beyond the usual Italian white wines, with expressive aromas, refreshing acidity, and a substantial palate that makes it both versatile and satisfying.
The Territory
The wine comes from the hills of Colli Aprutini, in Abruzzo, a territory influenced by both the Adriatic Sea and the breezes descending from the Apennines.
Here, Pecorino finds ideal conditions for expressing its natural character: a climate cool enough to preserve acidity and aromatic freshness, yet bright and warm enough to ensure complete and balanced ripening.
The result is a white wine that combines freshness, minerality, and structure, with a distinctive expression of the Abruzzo landscape.
The Winery
Azienda Agricola Faraone was founded in the 1930s and has been expressing the identity of Abruzzo through wine for generations. The family began with traditional local varieties such as Montepulciano, Sangiovese, and Trebbiano, and later expanded its work to Pecorino and other indigenous grapes of the region.
The winery's philosophy is rooted in the belief that authentic wines should express the character of their territory while remaining firmly connected to tradition.
