The soul of the volcano in a glass
Massimo Lentsch's Etna Rosso DOC is one of the wines that best expresses the charm of Mount Etna's northern slopes. Made from 100% Nerello Mascalese, it comes from the ancient lava flows of Feudo di Mezzo, at an altitude of around 700 metres, where volcanic soils and significant day-night temperature variations give rise to wines of extraordinary elegance.
Far from the image of powerful red wines traditionally associated with Southern Italy, this Etna Rosso captivates with its finesse. It combines freshness, minerality, and depth, expressing the complexity of a truly unique territory.
The winemaker's notes
"Etna is one of the most fascinating places in the world of wine. Nerello Mascalese manages to convey all the energy of the volcano into the glass: refined aromas, elegant tannins, and a savoury character that makes every sip dynamic. This wine demonstrates that strength can coexist with delicacy."

Why we chose it
We chose Massimo Lentsch's Etna Rosso because it perfectly represents the identity of Mount Etna's northern slopes.
It is a wine that impresses without seeking opulence, favouring elegance, precision, and authenticity. An ideal bottle for those who love great wines with a strong sense of place and want to discover one of Italy's most fascinating appellations.
The territory
The vineyards are located in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the northern slopes of Mount Etna.
Here, the soils consist of deep volcanic sands rich in microelements, while the high-altitude climate, with significant temperature variations between day and night, favours slow grape ripening and preserves the aromatic elegance of Nerello Mascalese.
Some vineyards are trained using the traditional Etnean alberello (bush vine) system and include century-old ungrafted vines, an authentic heritage of Sicilian viticulture.
The winery
Massimo Lentsch has chosen to dedicate his project exclusively to Etna, enhancing the historic vineyards of the northern slopes through viticulture that respects nature and the territory.
Fermentation takes place with indigenous yeasts, while cellar intervention is kept to a minimum, allowing the wine to express the character of the volcano as authentically as possible.
