The Lambrusco that surprises even those who think they know it
Forget the idea of simple, everyday Lambrusco. Cantina Paltrinieri La Riserva was created to reveal the more elegant side of Lambrusco di Sorbara, through a careful selection of grapes from the historic Cristo di Sorbara vineyard and extended aging on the lees.
The result is a refined sparkling wine with exceptionally fine bubbles, combining vibrant freshness, savoriness, and remarkable aromatic complexity.
The winemaker's notes
"When someone tells me they don't like Lambrusco, I often have them taste this bottle. It changes their perspective: elegant, precise, and incredibly fresh. It shows just how much finesse and character Lambrusco di Sorbara can express."
— Yuri Stefani
Why we chose it
We chose La Riserva because it represents one of the most refined expressions of Lambrusco di Sorbara.
It combines tradition and research in a dry, precise style, with the freshness and gastronomic character to accompany an entire meal. It is also a fascinating introduction to the denomination for anyone who still associates Lambrusco only with simpler styles.
The territory
The grapes come from the Cristo di Sorbara area, between the Secchia and Panaro rivers, one of the historic heartlands of Lambrusco di Sorbara.
The loose, sandy soils, rich in organic matter, favour wines with remarkable elegance, vibrant acidity, and a distinctive savory character. Here, Lambrusco di Sorbara expresses its most refined side, combining delicacy with remarkable aromatic definition.
The winery
Cantina Paltrinieri is a family-run winery founded in 1926 and now led by Alberto Paltrinieri. Over the decades, the winery has played an important role in the modern appreciation of pure Lambrusco di Sorbara, focusing on dry, territorial wines characterized by precision and elegance.
Today, its wines are appreciated both in Italy and internationally, while remaining deeply rooted in the vineyards and traditions of the Modena area.
