Malvasia from Collio: where land, sea and tradition meet
Malvasia Reversus Venezia Giulia IGT 2022 by Azienda Agricola Roncùs is a wine that beautifully expresses the identity of the Collio Goriziano.
Made from 100% Malvasia Istriana, an historic grape variety originating from Istria and perfectly adapted to the hills of Friuli, Reversus combines expressive aromas, elegance and a distinctive saline character shaped by the soils and climate of this remarkable territory.
The name Reversus evokes a return to the origins: a renewed appreciation of traditional grape varieties and a way of farming that respects nature and the land.
The result is an authentic and distinctive white wine in which the aromatic character of Malvasia meets the minerality and freshness of Collio.
The winemaker's notes
"Malvasia Istriana is a fascinating grape variety because it has a distinctive personality without ever becoming overpowering. In Reversus, Mediterranean aromas meet freshness and a beautiful saline character, creating a wine that expresses its origins with remarkable elegance."

Why we chose it
We chose Roncùs Malvasia Reversus because it represents an authentic expression of Friuli Venezia Giulia's outstanding white-wine tradition.
It is a wine of remarkable balance and depth: aromatic without being overly exuberant, intense yet elegant, with a distinctive personality that makes it equally appealing to lovers of native Italian white varieties and to those looking for an alternative to more familiar international grapes.
A bottle that celebrates Italy's extraordinary viticultural diversity and the character of its indigenous grape varieties.
The territory
The wine comes from Collio Goriziano, one of Italy's most renowned areas for the production of fine white wines.
The vineyards grow on the region's distinctive ponca, a soil formed from layers of marl and sandstone. This unique geological composition contributes to the pronounced mineral and saline character for which the wines of Collio are known.
The climate benefits from the influence of the nearby Adriatic Sea and the protection provided by the surrounding hills, creating ideal conditions for the grapes to ripen slowly and develop aromatic complexity while retaining freshness.
The winery
Azienda Agricola Roncùs is located in the heart of Collio and follows a winemaking philosophy centred on respect for the land and the expression of local grape varieties.
Its vineyards are surrounded by woodland and meadows and are cultivated with careful, low-intervention practices. Grapes are harvested by hand, while precise work in the cellar is aimed at preserving their natural character and allowing the identity of the territory to emerge in the finished wine.
