The freshness of Chardonnay in Domaine Boussard Petit Chablis
Domaine Boussard Petit Chablis is a fresh, bright and approachable white wine that expresses the character of Chardonnay through an elegant and pleasantly mineral style.
Made from 100% Chardonnay, it comes from the Chablis wine-growing area in northern Burgundy, where the cool climate and limestone-rich soils help preserve freshness and natural acidity.
Compared with Chablis, Petit Chablis generally offers a more immediate and fragrant expression, with a clear fruit character and a pleasant mineral tension.
In the glass, it is an agile and highly gastronomic white wine, showing fresh fruit, citrus and delicate mineral notes.
A wine focused on freshness and drinkability, while retaining the distinctive identity of Chardonnay from this part of Burgundy.
The winemaker's notes
"Petit Chablis is a wine I particularly appreciate for its immediacy. Chardonnay retains a beautiful sense of tension here, while showing a more direct and fragrant personality. It is a white wine that invites another glass and, thanks to its freshness and mineral character, works beautifully with a wide range of dishes."

Why we chose it
We selected Domaine Boussard Petit Chablis because it offers a straightforward and enjoyable introduction to northern Burgundy and the world of Chablis.
Domaine Boussard is a family-run estate based in Nitry, in the Yonne department. Olivier Boussard planted his first vines in 1992, and the estate now covers around 23 hectares, following environmentally respectful practices and holding HVE Level 3 certification.
The Domaine produces both Chablis and Petit Chablis, as well as Bourgogne and Crémant de Bourgogne, with a focus on expressing the characteristics of each appellation.
We selected this Petit Chablis for its fresh, fruity and mineral character, making it particularly versatile at the table and easy to enjoy.
The terroir
Petit Chablis belongs to the same broader wine-growing area as Chablis, in northern Burgundy.
The region is characterised by a cool climate and limestone-rich soils that allow Chardonnay to retain good natural acidity while developing the distinctive combination of freshness and minerality associated with the wines of the area.
The difference between the Chablis appellations is therefore not the grape variety, which remains 100% Chardonnay, but primarily the vineyard locations and their classification.
The result is a wine that is generally more immediate and approachable, with the fruity character of Chardonnay particularly evident.
The winery
Domaine Boussard is a family-run estate whose agricultural history predates Olivier Boussard's involvement in winemaking.
Olivier planted his first vines in 1992, and the estate has gradually grown to around 23 hectares. The Boussard family continues to manage the estate today, with the younger generation represented by Olivier's daughter Margot.
The Domaine produces several northern Burgundy appellations and follows an approach focused on respecting the character of each terroir. Its range includes Chablis, Petit Chablis and several more structured Chablis cuvées.
