The great indigenous red of the Piave, intense and uncompromising
Cecchetto Vini’s Raboso del Piave DOC 2022 is an authentic expression of one of Veneto’s historic grape varieties. A symbol of the Piave DOC, Raboso is a grape with a strong personality, renowned for its naturally high acidity, substantial structure and remarkable ability to evolve over time.
Cecchetto interprets Raboso with respect for its identity, guiding its natural power towards greater elegance. The result is an intense, deep wine in which firm tannins are refined by extended ageing in wood, while retaining the freshness that makes Raboso so distinctive.
The winemaker’s notes
"Raboso is a wine that demands patience. It is one of those grape varieties that does not try to please immediately: it needs time to reveal itself. When it reaches its balance, it offers a depth and personality that few other Italian grape varieties can match."

Why we chose it
We chose Cecchetto’s Raboso del Piave because it perfectly reflects our philosophy: enhancing indigenous grape varieties that tell the story of their territory.
It is an authentic wine, far removed from passing trends, made by a winery that has spent decades championing Raboso and exploring its more elegant expressions. A bottle for those who appreciate structured reds with the depth and potential to evolve beautifully over time.
The territory
The grapes come from vineyards in Tezze di Piave, within the Piave DOC denomination.
The soils are alluvial, loose and well drained, formed by gravel deposits laid down over time by the Piave River. These conditions encourage slow ripening while helping the grapes retain the high natural acidity that is the hallmark of Raboso, contributing to the wine’s structure and ageing potential.
The winery
Cecchetto Vini is one of the wineries that has done most to champion Raboso del Piave.
Led by Giorgio Cecchetto, the winery has built its identity around this historic Venetian grape, interpreting it in different expressions, from traditional Raboso to Malanotte and Metodo Classico Rosa Bruna.
The winery combines tradition with ongoing research, with the aim of demonstrating Raboso’s remarkable potential through wines that are both elegant and capable of long ageing.
