The authentic soul of Lambrusco di Sorbara
Radice Lambrusco di Sorbara DOC by Cantina Paltrinieri reveals the most elegant and terroir-driven side of Emilia's Lambrusco tradition.
Made from 100% Lambrusco di Sorbara, it is a dry sparkling wine produced through natural refermentation in the bottle, a traditional method that preserves the wine's remarkable freshness, vitality and authentic varietal character.
The name Radice, meaning “root”, reflects its deep connection to the land of Sorbara and to a winemaking tradition founded on simplicity, respect and identity.
This is a Lambrusco far removed from stereotypes: refined, dry, vibrant and remarkably food-friendly. The natural sediment from bottle refermentation may give the wine a slight haze while contributing additional texture and complexity, making Radice an authentic artisanal expression of its Modenese origins.
The winemaker's notes
"Lambrusco di Sorbara is a grape variety of remarkable elegance. Its strength lies in its freshness: it has the lightness and vibrancy of a white wine, yet enough structure to accompany richer dishes. When handled with respect, it can reveal surprising depth and complexity."

Why we chose it
We chose Paltrinieri Radice because it perfectly embodies what we look for in a wine: terroir, tradition and identity.
It is a Lambrusco capable of surprising even those who may not associate sparkling wines with complexity. Its vibrant acidity, mineral character and elegance make it an ideal bottle for anyone looking for an authentic and versatile expression of this historic grape variety.
A wine that demonstrates just how distinctive Lambrusco can be, equally enjoyable as an aperitif or alongside an entire meal.
The territory
Radice comes from the historic area of Sorbara, in the heart of the province of Modena and one of the most important areas for the cultivation of Lambrusco di Sorbara.
The vineyards are located around Cristo di Sorbara, on a strip of land between the Secchia and Panaro rivers.
Here, loose soils predominantly composed of silt and sand, together with the area's distinctive microclimate, create ideal conditions for grapes with remarkable finesse, aromatic expression and naturally high acidity.
The winery
Cantina Paltrinieri was founded in Sorbara and has dedicated generations of work to expressing the unique character of Lambrusco di Sorbara.
Its philosophy is deeply rooted in the territory, with careful vineyard management and winemaking techniques designed to preserve the natural identity of the grape.
Paltrinieri offers a contemporary interpretation of Lambrusco while maintaining a strong connection to the traditional methods that have shaped the history of this remarkable wine.
