Three territories, one family
At first glance, these are three completely different wines. One comes from the islands of the Venetian Lagoon, another from the volcanic hills of Soave, and the third from the heart of Le Marche.
Yet their story is unexpectedly connected: Dorona, Garganega and Verdicchio belong to the same genetic family.
This selection is a journey through three grape varieties with ancient roots and a shared genetic heritage, yet profoundly different personalities shaped by the territories in which they have evolved.
Soave Classico "Battistelle" – Azienda Le Battistelle
Born from the volcanic soils of Brognoligo, this Soave Classico is a refined expression of Garganega.
The nose offers delicate aromas of white flowers, fresh almond and citrus, while the palate is vibrant and precise, combining freshness, mineral depth and a beautifully textured finish with the characteristic almond and saline notes of Garganega.
Dorona – Azienda Biniola, Venice
Dorona is the ancient native grape variety of the Venetian Lagoon, historically appreciated by the Doges and preserved from extinction through the work of a handful of passionate growers.
Its genetic link to Garganega is particularly fascinating: DNA analysis has shown that Dorona is a direct descendant of this variety.
Vinified in stainless steel, this interpretation by Azienda Agricola Biniola expresses the essence of its lagoon environment: fresh, saline and mineral, with the perfect versatility to accompany fish and seafood from the Venetian tradition.
Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi – Azienda Terralibera, Marche
Verdicchio is another close relative of Garganega, sharing an almost identical genetic profile with Trebbiano di Soave.
Terralibera offers a pure and expressive interpretation of the variety, with vibrant acidity, a firm yet elegant structure and aromas of white-fleshed fruit and wild herbs.
The characteristic bitter almond finish brings the tasting full circle, revealing an unexpected connection between Verdicchio, Garganega and its Venetian relative, Dorona.
