The youngest and most authentic expression of Montalcino Sangiovese
The Rosso di Montalcino DOC 2024 from Tenuta Buon Tempo showcases the freshest and most immediate expression of Sangiovese Grosso, the same grape variety behind Brunello di Montalcino. It is a wine that retains the elegance of its territory while standing out for its lively character, vibrant fruit, and effortless drinkability.
Made exclusively from Sangiovese Grosso, it comes from the estate’s vineyards on the northeastern side of Montalcino, an area marked by significant day-night temperature variations that encourage intense aromas, freshness, and balance.
It is an ideal introduction to the world of Montalcino: an authentic and refined Tuscan red that is already expressive and enjoyable in its youth.
The winemaker’s notes
"Rosso di Montalcino is often described as Brunello’s younger sibling, but I believe it has a personality of its own. I like it because it brings out the most fragrant side of Sangiovese: cherry, violet, freshness, and elegant tannins. It is an extremely versatile wine at the table, capable of accompanying a wide range of dishes without ever feeling heavy."

Why we chose it
We chose the Rosso di Montalcino from Tenuta Buon Tempo because it perfectly captures the elegance of the appellation in a fresher and more immediate style.
It is a wine that allows you to experience the character of Montalcino through a balanced, fine, and versatile expression—equally suited to those discovering Tuscan Sangiovese for the first time and to enthusiasts looking for a high-quality red that can be enjoyed young.
The territory
The vineyards are located in the municipality of Montalcino, one of Tuscany’s most renowned areas for the cultivation of Sangiovese.
The soils, rich in galestro, alberese, and clay, combined with altitude and significant day-night temperature variations, encourage slow and balanced grape ripening while preserving aromatic intensity, acidity, and elegance.
These conditions give the wine a harmonious and expressive character, firmly rooted in the territory of Montalcino.
The winery
Tenuta Buon Tempo was founded with the aim of enhancing the Montalcino territory through sustainable viticulture and careful respect for the environment.
The winery pays particular attention to vineyard management and grape selection, while keeping intervention during vinification to a minimum in order to allow the Sangiovese to express its character and sense of place. Each wine is made with a focus on elegance, balance, and aging potential.
