The aromatic intensity of Sicily in an elegant fortified wine

Angileri Zibibbo Liquoroso by Alagna Vini is produced in western Sicily from 100% Zibibbo (Moscato di Alessandria) grapes harvested at full ripeness. Fermentation is partially interrupted by the addition of wine alcohol, preserving the grape's natural aromatic intensity while retaining its characteristic sweetness.

The result is an elegant and enveloping fortified wine, rich in Mediterranean aromas and marked by a soft, persistent palate. Naturally suited to Sicilian pastries, it can also reveal an intriguing versatility alongside blue cheeses or simply be enjoyed slowly as a meditation wine.

The winemaker's notes

"Zibibbo is one of those wines that seems to capture all of Sicily in a glass. I like to serve it slightly chilled: its aromatic character remains at the forefront, but the cooler temperature brings an extra freshness that makes it even more enjoyable. It's a bottle to share slowly, perhaps at the end of dinner."

— Yuri Stefani

Why we chose it

We chose this Zibibbo because it represents an authentic expression of the tradition of Sicilian fortified wines.

It is rich, aromatic, and intense, yet the natural freshness of Zibibbo keeps the sweetness balanced and the palate lively. A particularly fascinating choice for discovering the grape in a sweet, fortified style.

The territory

The grapes come from western Sicily, particularly the areas around Marsala and Mazara del Vallo, territories historically suited to Zibibbo cultivation.

The warm, dry, and breezy Mediterranean climate encourages full ripening while helping preserve the grape's distinctive aromatic character. The result is a wine that brings together the warmth of Sicily and the freshness of its sea-influenced landscape.

The winery

Founded in 1946, Alagna Vini is one of the historic wineries of the Marsala area. For generations, the family has worked to preserve and enhance the great wines of Sicilian tradition, with particular expertise in fortified wines and Marsala.

The Angileri line is dedicated to Vitalba Angileri, wife of Ercole Alagna, and represents a selection of wines that reflect the character and traditions of the Marsala territory.
